Amanda Brugel

(February 27th, 2010 (February 27, 2010 Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a small community that lies on the part of Montreal called"the West Island. Many people unfamiliar with the word tend to think it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal although in actual fact, this part of West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the town of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there although her time was not long in the city. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Her early ambition was to dance but an increase in her height meant she outgrew her dance partners. According to an article in the Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as 6 feet 1 inch tall. Once I had outgrown my male dancers, I quit. In the case of Brugel it was her encouragement from an instructor in drama from her high school which inspired her to start acting. The teacher suggested that she try her hand at a character in the annual school production. After some trial and error the role, she was chosen as the main character in Anne of Green Gables. This resulted in being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel has been in 60+ productions both on big screens and smaller ones. The most notable was her fame when she was offered the performance as Rita on the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor in the season 1 which was only seen at times.
